What A Gal

A wonder of a woman.

It seems that since Wonder Woman hit theaters Gal Gadot has been on everyone’s radar. If you still haven’t heard of the 32-year-old actress you must be living under a rock.

After watching Wonder Woman, for the third time in theaters, I read up on Gadot and her film career. Gadot made her film debut in 2009s Fast & Furious as Gisele. She reprised her role in sequels Fast Five and Fast & Furious 6. As I read more and more about her I uncovered that she married at age 23 and had her first child at age 26. This information made me very happy. As an aspiring actress I’ve always had these rules/limitations engraved in my head. Rules like “You should have a career before you get married…”, ” if I get pregnant before establishing some sort of name for myself it will be a million times harder to break out into the industry…”, or “I need to be XYZ by age 30…” I don’t know why or when these rules were imbedded into my mind, but reading up on Gadots journey gave me a sense of hope. Her road to success reminded me that any personal life goals you have for yourself shouldn’t  be deemed as  an interference with career goals. Maybe I was using those rules as excuses. I’m at a point in my life where, I now know I’ll only get back as much as I put in, in any situation. Thanks for the refresher Gal.

  1. That is a nice piece you wrote. I would encourage you in the future to take your writing a bit further as there is a great deal more you could have added to this that would have made it a deeper bit that speaks to a wider audience on a greater level… after all she did play a role in a genre dominated by men and at her age she, as well as the film, kicked ass! Good job!
